A 28-year-old Alma man is being held in the Marion County Jail after he allegedly broke into his estranged wife’s Salem home and fired a gun before leaving.

Rollie Rozkiewicz was arrested after taking a Marion County Sheriff’s deputy on a brief pursuit following the alleged incident.

Salem police had received a call around 6:20 Saturday morning from a woman in the 1000 block of North Jackson Street. She told police that Rozkiewicz had kicked in the door of her home, ran through the house and fired a shot from a rifle before going outside and possibly firing another shot.

He left the scene in his pickup truck but a sheriff’s deputy aware of the report was en routhe and located Rozkiewicz as he was entering Alma.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop, but Rozkiewicz reportedly didn’t stop until he pulled into the driveway at his home.

According to deputy reports, Rozkiewicz became unruly and was ultimately tazed before being handcuffed and taken into custody.

Salem police report the weapon allegedly fired at the Salem home was found in the truck and evidence was found inside the home of the shot being fired.

No injuries were reported.
