HARRISBURG — A Harrisburg school principal has been named the winner of the prestigious Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Leadership.

Natalie Fry, the principal at Eastside Intermediate School, has been named the winner of the statewide award.

Fry says it’s not about the recognition, she eats, sleeps, and breathes educating local kids.

President of the Golden Apple Foundation Alan Mather was on the on-site evaluation team that judged Fry for the award. He says she perfectly embodies what the foundation looks for in an excellent educator.

Fry is a Harrisburg native, and she says both of her parents were also educators.
