Wilma Joyce (Tinsley)(McMahan) Jones, 79, passed away on October 15, 2019 after a short illness. She was born in Mt. Vernon, Illinois on November 30, 1939 daughter of Earl and Alta Tinsley.

She attended elementary school at Riley and Rome Consolidated Grade School, graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School and Mt. Vernon Community College, receiving a degree as an elementary school teacher. After working as the Manger at the Fox Theatres for several years, she became involved in her own business, starting a home improvement center known as Pine View Supply Co., and M&M Oil Company.

Wilma is survived by husband Larry R. Jones of Mt. Vernon, Il.; Daughter, Debra Margraf (Michael) of Tempe, Arizona; five step children: Melissa Duffy of St. Louis, MO.; Rick McMahan (Pam); Doug McMahan (Linda); Cathy Owens (Dave); Michael McMahan. Grandchildren- Raini Hawkins (Cheyene); Bodi Hawkins; Sage Wilkey; Hayden Brown; Eamom Duffy; Maia Maricle (Jeff); Andrea Snyder (Johnathan); Katie McMahan; Ashley Snow (Charlie); Melissa  Voss (Jason); Amy Cheek (Kyle); Casey Hickman (Chad); Megan, Mallory and Braxton McMahan; (12) Great Grandchildren; One Brother, Jim Tinsley; One Sister Nellie Mellott (Bill); Two Sisters-In- Law, Ruby Tinsley and Judy Tinsley; and several nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ray Hawkins, great grand-daughter, Astrid Raye Hawkins, former husband Louis McMahan; her Parents and two Brothers, Kenneth and George Tinsley. Wilma was a member of New Hope “Webb” Missionary Baptist Church since the age of 12. She enjoyed working with the Youth of the Church and was VBS Director for several years.

Wilma was a remarkable, gentle, kind, incredibly intelligent and loving person who will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, Illinois, with the Reverends Alan Smith and Aaron Trotter officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday, October 18, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.   Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Evelyn’s House for their dedicated care while in Hospice.
