CENTRALIA — The administration of a Centralia nursing home has responded to reports Tuesday of employee paychecks being rejected at the bank for insufficient funds.

Facility Administrator Kathy Berck said the issue is being handled and that employees are not only being paid the value of their paychecks but also for any fines, fees, or other costs stemming from their checks bouncing.

The only other statement Berck made was that employee health coverage was not interrupted and that it has been paid.

Withers Broadcasting was contacted Tuesday by multiple employees of Fireside House in Centralia claiming that not only did their paychecks not clear but their health insurance coverage has not been paid since at least October.

Employees have contacted us multiple times this year to report their paychecks had not cleared.
