Melvin “Ike” Garrison, 84, passed away at 9:07 am on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017 at Crossroads Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

He was born in McLeansboro on July 14, 1933 the son of Kenneth and Wanda (Love) Garrison.

Mr. Garrison was baptized into the Pentecostal Faith. He was a lifelong resident of Boyd where he was a farmer and oil field laborer.

He is survived by a daughter Sandy Adams of New York, a grandson Jason Adams of Missouri, two nephews, Tony Garrison of Mt. Vernon and Marshal Garrison of Mt. Vernon, a niece Violet Garrison of Mt. Vernon and two Great Nephews Tom and Marshal Garrison both of Mt. Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons Dougie and Kenny Wayne, two brothers Mike and Les Garrison, a sister Nadine Garrison and his Uncle Ronnie .

As per his wishes his body will be cremated and burial of cremains will be at Boyd Cemetery at a later date. No public services will be held.
