A Centralia junior high school student was taken to the hospital Wednesday afternoon for treatment of minor injuries after she reportedly was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Calumet and Pine streets.

According to police reports, around 3:23 p.m., Wednesday, the student reportedly ran from behind a parked car on Calumet Street and was struck by a vehicle driven by Stacy Moore, of Centralia.

The impact reportedly threw the girl onto the hood of the car and broke the windshield. People nearby were able to get the girl onto the lawn of the school where she sat when first responders arrived.

She was taken by Lifestar Ambulance to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
