(SALEM, IL) — An 18-year-old Walnut Hill man is in the Marion County Jail after allegedly stealing a firearm in Jefferson County. John Cluck was reportedly arrested Friday night by Centralia police who had been alerted by Jefferson County authorities about his possible involvement in a gun theft. A Centralia officer ultimately performed a traffic stop during which Cluck allegedly admitted to having a .22 caliber firearm under the seat. The officer recovered the weapon and ultimately determined it had been stolen. In addition to being arrested on charges of possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm with invalid FOID card, he was also cited for improper display of license plates, no valid driver’s license and driving without insurance.
