(SESSER, IL) — A Sesser man has been named the new coordinator of the Franklin County Joint Emergency Telephone System Board. Mike Carpenter will replace Rick Basso, who will step down at the end of April. Basso will work closely with Carpenter during the transition. Carpenter has three decades of experience in the emergency services field. He current works as a process server for the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and is the manager of Public Safety Answering Point in Benton. Carpenter will give up those jobs the middle of next month. Basso has served as coordinator for the past nine years.
