(SANDOVAL, IL) — A 23-year-old Sandoval man was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash just west of Sandoval. According to the Marion County Coroner’s Office, Travis Bierman was pronounced dead on arrival at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Reports say Bierman was driving an SUV pulling an overloaded trailer on U.S. 50 near Jolliff Bridge Road when the trailer began fish tailing, causing Bierman to lose control and the vehicle to overturn. Bierman was ejected from the SUV, and died from severe head trauma. A passenger in the vehicle reportedly escaped remained in the vehicle and suffered only minor injuries. The passenger has not been identified at this time. The Clinton County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash, which occurred just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
