SOS Bomb Squad Respond To Iuka Home Tuesday

(IUKA, IL) — The Illinois Secretary of State Police Bomb Squad responded to a home in Iuka Tuesday afternoon, after receiving a call from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office regarding explosives. According to Secretary of State Spokesman Henry Haupt, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Bomb Squad around 12:45 p.m. regarding the situation. Reports indicate commercial grade explosives were discovered in a rental home in Iuka, which resulted in the two agencies being called to the scene. The sheriff’s office confirmed that just before 2 p.m., deputies were on scene at the Iuka home and that the situation was under control.
