(WAYNE COUNTY, IL) — A two-year-old juvenile was killed in a one-car crash Saturday morning in Wayne County. Illinois State Police say around 6 a.m., 22-year-old Briana L. Lashley of Richmond, VA was driving her car west on I-64 approaching mile post 109 and a half when she left the roadway and drove into the median. Her car continued in the median until it struck a concrete bridge structure before coming to rest in the water under the bridge. Lashley and her two-year-old passenger were taken away from the scene by ambulance to an area hospital. The toddler was later pronounced dead at the hospital. No charges were filed. The crash remains under investigation.
