(Collinsville, IL) — An investigation is ongoing following a deadly fire in Southwest Illinois. Firefighters responding to the blaze found a man dead inside the kitchen of his Collinsville home last Thursday. The Madison County Coroner’s office later identified the victim as 36-year-old Jason Grant. Fire officials say a number of animals were pulled from the home including at least four dogs and several snakes. It is not known if all of the animals survived.
