Donald Gene Braddy, 82, of Bluford, Illinois passed away at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Lavender Ridge in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born Saturday, October 6, 1934 in Bluford, Illinois to parents, Gene and Geneva (Modglin) Braddy. Donald was raised by his loving grandparents, George and Mamie (Baker) Modglin. He married Emma Jane (Irwin) Braddy on August 5, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Janaury 6, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Randy Hayes  officiating.  Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Military Rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #141 of Mount Vernon at the graveside. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois.  For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
