(MARION, IL) — A Marion man pled guilty Monday in Williamson County Court on a Class 3 felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and was sentenced to three years in state prison. Jimmy Dean, with the Williamson County State’s Attorney’s office, says 22-year-old Andre S. Baker reportedly fired a shot from a gun on Vicksburg Street on May 1st of this year. Marion Police were able to get Baker’s description after arriving on scene to investigate the disturbance and took him into custody a short time later. He had a shotgun and shotgun shells in his possession when police found him. Baker was charged with the offense the next day by Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti. Baker had felony convictions for unlawful use of a weapon and manufacture/delivery of cannabis. He remains incarcerated in the Williamson County Jail.
