(CENTRALIA, IL) — A second man has been arrested after being sought for months in connection with the September robbery of a 16-year-old male in Centralia. Centralia police 20-year-old Lindell Troupe for allegedly stealing the juvenile’s phone, pants and shoes during a September 14th robbery on a Centralia street near Laura Leake Park. Police say Troupe, along with 18-year-old Damari Lewis, stopped a car in which the juvenile was riding. Troupe and Lewis then allegedly robbed the juvenile of his phone, pants, and shoes, got into the car he had been riding in and left the scene. The juvenile was able to give officers a possible location of the subjects, which led to an attempted traffic stop of the two individuals. Both men fled on foot, with Lewis running through yards and knocking a young child to the ground. The child was not injured, but a subsequent encounter with the child’s father delayed Lewis long enough for officers to quickly arrive and take him into custody. Troupe managed to avoid capture until his arrest Friday.
