(Springfield, IL)  —  Illinois’ fiscal woes are so bad the state is losing a park. The Army Corps of Engineers ended its lease with the state of Illinois for the South Shore State Park along Carlyle Lake about 50-miles east of St. Louis because the state wasn’t maintaining the park. Illinois was supposed to take care of the park til at least 2025.
