(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council is scheduled to meet this evening. Among items on the agenda, the Council will request permission to seek bids for janitorial services and for financing the city portion of the early retirement incentive cost. They will hear the results of quotes for banking services. The city manager will present the fiscal year 2015-2016 audit report for approval. The city attorney will give a second reading of an ordinance amendment revising code establishing rules for public participation, a pair of property rezoning ordinances, a first reading for an ordinance authorizing sale of municipal property, a resolution approving a proposal with Poettker Construction for construction management of the Armory project, a resolution requesting authorization from IDOT for temporary closure of portions of Routes 37 and 15 for the Annual Christmas Parade on December 3rd, and a resolution authorizing the mayor to act as an authorized representative to the Economic Development Administration for matters related to the EDA grant for local industrial expansion. The meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Rolland W. Lewis Community Building.
