
Peggy J. Fry, 94, of Clayton, Missouri, and formerly of Waltonville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 after a brief illness. Peggy was born Peggy J. Hogancamp on December 3, 1930 to Avis and Maurice Hogancamp, of Carlisle County, Kentucky.
Peggy graduated from Arlington High School in 1947 and then attended Draughn’s Business College in Paducah, Kentucky. After graduating, she relocated to Mt. Vernon, Illinois to work as an Executive Secretary for the Vernois Stove Foundry. In 1950, she met and married Thomas E. Fry, Jr. Peggy and Tom co-owned and managed the Fry & Frick Hardware Store and the Fry & Frick Funeral Home in Waltonville.
After her children were grown, Peggy attended Rend Lake College of Nursing and worked as an RN at Crossroads Hospital until her retirement.
Peggy was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon.
Peggy is survived by daughter Susan Quinton and Tim, son Thomas E. Fry, III and Yuko, son Bill Fry and Peter, granddaughter Katelen Fry and sister Louella Lyon.
Peggy was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband-Thomas E. Fry, Jr. and 2 Brothers- Dick Hogancamp & Tommy Hogancamp.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 1st at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Alan Rhein officiating. Burial will be in the Kirk Cemetery in Ina. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the church.
