CENTRALIA — Firefighters battled a field fire in Walnut Hill last night, where between 40 and 50 acres were ablaze.

Early reports indicate firefighters were hampered in accessing the nearly 50-acre fire as it was inaccessible.

The field fire was near Walnut Hill and Clements roads.

Multiple agencies responded to a second fire shortly after the call was received on the field fire.

Firefighters from Centralia City, Centralia Fire Protection District, Sandoval, and Odin responded to the report of multiple structures on fire at 10th and Dover in Centralia.

Reports indicate a home and detached garage were involved, with flames showing upon firefighters’ arrival.
