Vera L. Reece, 89, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:04 P.M on Friday, June 17, 2016 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Ms. Reece was born on Wednesday, March 9, 1927 in Clifton, Illinois to Edward & Nellie (Mathews) Wilson. She married Howard S. Reece on January 16, 1948 in Morganfield, Kentucky and he preceded her in death. Funeral Service will be held at 1 P.M. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Steve Hamson officiating.  Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 with interment in Harmony Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. She is survived bY her Daughter, Nancy Boyer of Mount Vernon, Illinois, 3 Grandchildren, Billy Boyer and Jennifer Gentles of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, and Laura Valdespino of Texas, 4 Great Grandchildren, Olivia Boyer, Callie Gentles, Isa and Vivian Valdespino, 3 Brothers, Max Wilson and wife Shirley of Dix, Illinois, Carol Glen Wilson and wife Mary Leslie of Georgia, Charles Edward Wilson and wife Angie of Dix, Illinois, 7 Sisters, Doris Halfacre of Iuka, Illinois, Darlene Mulch and husband Danny of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jolene Wells and husband Charles of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Vada Tate of Kansas, Dorothy Bridgeman of Grayville, Illinois, Sarah Lou Bicknell of Mount Vernon, Illinois. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive. Her parents, Husband, 2 brothers: Leon and Gene Wilson, 3 sisters: Beverly Byars, Rita Harlow and Shirley Capps preceded her in death. Mrs. Reece worked as a beautician in her home for several years. She had also worked at several retail stores in the Mt.
