(SALEM, IL) — A 77-year-old Wamac man was arrested Saturday morning for alleged violation of an order of protection, just shortly after he was released from the hospital where he was treated after allegedly being beaten with a baseball bat. Kenneth Ray reportedly rode his bicycle to the hospital after 36-year-old Corwin Baker of Tulsa, Oklahoma, struck him several times with an aluminum baseball bat. Ray was found to have multiple lacerations to his face and contusions to his legs. Baker was arrested for alleged aggravated battery to a senior citizen. He was taken to the Marion County Jail, but was later released. After Ray was released from the hospital, he was arrested for violating an order of protection for being outside Baker’s home Friday night. Ray was also taken to the Marion County Jail, where he remained Sunday night.
