(Marion, IL) — Five southern Illinois cops are off the streets pending an Illinois State Police investigation after Tuesday’s deadly standoff. Marion Police Chief Dawn Tondini told WSIL-TV that the officers are on a routine paid leave. She said the five patrol officers shot and killed Joshua Green after he held a woman hostage for four hours. The female held against her will was shot in the lower back and was eventually air-lifted to a hospital trauma center. She is expected to recover.
