(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council met Tuesday night.  Among items on the agenda, the council heard results of proposal requests for the city of Mt. Vernon and tourism websites with the winning bid going to Louden Design for $18,000. The council accepted the lone bid result of $226,754.35 from Jack’s Asphalt for maintenance materials using MFT funds. The city manager presented the capital projects report and request permission for the closure of North 9th Street from Main Street to Harrison for the “Counting Cars and Help For Kids” car show was approved. Ordinances regarding prevailing wage rate, regarding dedicating real estate for use as public roads at the new industrial park, and one approving TIF agreement with J&R Appliance were also all approved.
