(WEST FRANKFORT, IL) — A West Frankfort man has been charged in connection with that weekend standoff with police in the Strawberry Meadows neighborhood in West Frankfort. Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan Owens says Richard Denham is currently charged with two counts of domestic battery, one count of unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence and unlawful possession of a firearm without a requisite FOID card. Owens says all charges are Class A misdemeanors and informs you that he is presumed innocent of the charges against him. The investigation continues. West Frankfort Police along with Illinois State Police were called to the Strawberry Meadows neighborhood Saturday after getting a report of an alleged domestic dispute with possibly a weapon involved. After a robot, a dog and SWAT team members were sent in, police cleared the building and found a weapon, but Denham was nowhere to be found. Police caught Denham later, but did not say where that happened.
