(MT. VERNON, IL) — Governor Bruce Rauner will be downstate today. He will be at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. with State Director of Agriculture Raymond Poe and local officials discussing the Fairgrounds Foundation Bill. The Fairgrounds Foundation bill would create a foundation that allows private donors to support and maintain the fairgrounds. Officials say over 180-million-dollars in deferred maintenance is needed in Springfield and Du Quoin. At 11 a.m., Rauner moves to Murphysboro High School to discuss educational funding and structural reforms. He will end his day in Mt. Vernon when he visits Continental Tire in Mt. Vernon at 1:30 p.m. for a private town hall with employees and tour of the facility.
