(BENTON, IL) — A Zeigler man recently pled not guilty in Franklin County Court to sex charges involving a child under the age of 5. Twenty-five-year-old Allen Farris was charges last month with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child under the age of 5. He was also charged with unlawful possession of cannabis between 10 and 30 grams. During his court appearance, Farris requested a hearing to lower his bond. That is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. Farris is set to have a pre-trial hearing on April 14 at 1:30 and a final pretrial hearing on May 26 at 9:30. His jury trial is set for June 7. Farris is currently lodged in the Franklin County Jail on $100,000 bond. The state has also filed a motion to revoke Farris’ probation he got in August of 2013 on a burglary charge. A hearing on that matter is set for May 19 at 1:30.
