(Belleville, IL) — Chesterfield’s loss is apparently Belleville’s gain when it comes to a proposed multi-state youth athletic complex. The developer of the complex designed to attract sports tournaments from three states is being shifted to a site near a planned hotel and restaurant development in Belleville. Developer David Thorman says move is necessary because St. Louis County hasn’t come up with the two-million-dollars it pledged for improvements to the Chesterfield site.
