COVID-19 has caused the Relay for Life Festival of Hope to cancel its original event scheduled to take place at the Pavilion in Marion, but that is not stopping the organization from having an event.
The Williamson, Franklin, Saline, and Gallatin County chapter will be hosting a Luminaria Display and Ceremony at Tower Square Plaza on July 18th. Community members are invited to walk through the display from 7 to 10 p.m., with a ceremony and breaking of the glow sticks at 8:30 p.m.
Martha Clendenin is the Co-Chair of the Williamson, Franklin, Saline, and Gallatin County Relay for Life. She says while COVID is the main focus in society today, cancer has not stopped and times are even tougher for those battling the disease.
