A one-vehicle rollover crash occurred Wednesday night on the Interstate 57 southbound exit ramp.

Preliminary investigative details say around 7:35 PM, a vehicle driven by 78 year old, Clarence D. Ritchie of Wichita Falls, Texas began to merge onto the I-57 southbound in Salem when his Kia Sorento hydroplaned on the wet pavement and Ritchie lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle then slid off the roadway to the left and continued south crossing over the southbound onramp where it then overturned onto the driver’s side. Ritchie was entrapped in the vehicle and required extrication by the Salem Fire Department.

Ritchie was transported to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Both Passengers in the vehicle Betsey Ritchie and Dylan Caylor also of Wichita Falls, TX were uninjured.
