A fire in rural Opdyke early Saturday morning destroyed a pickup truck parked inside a barn. According to the Jefferson County Rural Fire Protection District, firefighters were called around 2 a.m. Saturday

While the truck was a total loss, firemen were able to keep the fire from spreading to the pole barn structure. There was some smoke damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Firefighters remained on scene for about one and a half hours.
