(CENTRALIA, IL) — A 32-year-old Centralia man was arrested Sunday after Marion County Sheriff’s deputies served him with a $50,000 warrant charging him with multiple drug-related offenses. Robert Williams was discovered hiding behind a chair in the living room of his Perrine Street home. A woman who eventually answered the door at the home initially denied but finally admitted that Williams was inside the home. Centralia police were dispatched for backup when Williams wasn’t immediately found. After he was ultimately found hiding behind the chair, Williams reportedly refused to put his hands up until one deputy drew his Taser. A baggie of methamphetamine was reportedly found near where Williams had been hiding and added another charge to those he was already facing in the warrant. The warrant was issued following the execution of a search warrant May 20^th on Williams’ home when he wasn’t there. Centralia police report that at the time of the search a large bag of drugs were found in a bedroom drawer that contained 14 grams of cocaine, 51 Oxycodone pills, five Alprazolam pills, and a baggie containing 3.1 grams of synthetic cannabis. Williams was taken to the Marion County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, manufacture with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of less than 5-grams of meth, and on the outstanding warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
