Orval L. Freeman, 93, of Scheller, passed away at 7:59 AM, February 15, 2017 at Nature Trail Health Care Center in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born January 2, 1924 in Waltonville, Illinois to parents, Roy & Myrtle (Newell) Freeman. He was married to Marie Virginia Freeman for 71 years and she survives. A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, February 17, 2017 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois.  A funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Newell Funeral Home in Waltonville, Illinois officiated by Pastor Jason Newell. Interment will follow at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville, Illinois. Members of the Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141 will conduct Full Military Honors at the cemetery.   For those who wish, memorials may be given to Knob Prairie Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Newell Funeral Home, 407 E.
