(CENTRALIA, IL) — A foot chase over the weekend resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old Centralia man after a police search for him in a Centralia home revealed drugs. Michael Miller was arrested for alleged possession of a controlled substance. Officers asked the occupant of a home in the 600 block of North Walnut for permission to search her home for other occupants after they believed Miller had fled into the home during a brief foot pursuit. The woman reportedly gave Centralia police officers and Marion County Sheriff’s deputies’ permission to search the home where they allegedly found a plastic baggie containing a white powdered substance in plain view. The substance tested positive for meth and Miller reportedly admitted that the meth was his. While no other people were found, a deputy spotted a plastic baggie with a white substance in plain sight next to the bed in the living room. It tested positive for meth. Miller allegedly admitted to police that is where he slept and the meth was his.
