(MT. VERNON, IL) — The Mt. Vernon City Council met Monday evening. Among items on the agenda, the Council asked and received permission to seek bids for renovations to Fire Station 4 and to replace the front and Westside doors and for the roof at City Hall. The council approved a low bid of $717,494.05 from J.K. Trotter & Sons for the New Industrial Park water and sewer project. The city manager gave a capital project report update. The city attorney read on and tabled until February 21st, a resolution establishing a capital improvement fee for the villages of Woodlawn, Bluford, Belle Rive, and Waltonville, the Dix-Kell Water Commission, and the Northeast Water Company. Resolutions were approved for an agreement with Roundtable Design for the Jones & 28th Street sewer project, an agreement with Rhutasel and Associates, Inc. for design work for the 44th Street overlay project, and a proposal for engineering services with Roundtable Design for storm sewer projects on Last and Rufus streets and Brownsville Road.
