(BENTON, IL) — A Benton man is going to prison on a meth charge. According to Franklin County State’s Attorney Evan Owens, 53-year-old Steven S. Blackman was recently sentenced to five years in state prison followed by a two year period of mandatory supervised release for unlawful methamphetamine child related endangerment. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies went to Blackman’s home on Nov. 1 after getting a report about a meth lab there. A search warrant was executed at the home and a large amount of meth, meth making material and meth trash was recovered. Blackman was then arrested on a variety of meth-related charges and taken to the Franklin County Jail.
