Christine Holmes, age 70 of Salem, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

Christine was born on October 13, 1955, in Centralia, the daughter of Woodson and Ruth Naomi (Meyer) Phoenix.

She is survived by her daughter, Brandy Holmes Drenckpohl of Odin; brother, Chris Phoenix and wife Donna of Kell; nephew, Amos Phoenix and wife Michelle of Gillespie; and significant other, Nick DiMonte of Bolingbrook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Phoenix; son-in-law, Dug Drenckpohl; and a nephew, Jacob Phoenix.

Christine was a member of Romine Prairie Presbyterian Church.  She was the owner and managing broker of Century 21 in Salem.  She later opened an insurance agency, working her way to District Manager for Allstate in the Chicago area, and ending her career as an agency owner in Tinley Park.  Christine lived life to the fullest, she enjoyed traveling, snow skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, and skydiving.

A Funeral Service for Christine Holmes will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 6:00 pm with Roy Koduvalil officiating.  A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.  Private interment will be held at Romine Prairie Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to Samaritan’s Purse or to the Romine Prairie Cemetery and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
