William “Dale” Prosise, 85 of Kell, passed away on January 13, 2026.

Dale was born on August 7, 1940, in Kell, the son of Velma Agnes Hays and William Keith Prosise.  He married Donna Greider on January 30, 1960, and she survives in Kell.

In addition to his wife, Donna Prosise, he is survived by two sons, William Randy Prosise of Dix and Robert Prosise of Kell; granddaughter, Chandra Hunter and husband Roger of Iuka; grandsons, William Jeromy Prosise of Salem and Shane Prosise and wife Samantha of Eureka, MO; four great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Ray Greider of Salem and Woodrow Shoemaker of Kell; aunt, Ida Gragert of Salem; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Daniel Skaggs, Jim Morton, Donnie Rector, Larry Clark; and so many other horse friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sister, Karen Combs; several aunts and uncles; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Shoemaker and Brenda Greider.

Dale worked for many years in the oil field for Texaco before owning and operating his own business, Prosise Backhoe Service, for 20 plus years.  He had a passion for horses at a very young age.  He trained and showed barrel and pole horses, and raced horses on the track for many years.  He greatly enjoyed visiting with horseshow friends at shows and handing out bubblegum and dollar bills to many of the kids at the shows.  He had a big heart for helping others.

Funeral Services for Dale Prosise will be held at Crouse Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 am with Donnie Rector officiating.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the service.  Entombment will follow at Harvey’s Point Cemetery in Kell.  Memorial contributions can be designated for a “Dale Prosise Memorial Barrel Race”, with checks made payable to Donna Prosise.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
