
Willard Glenn Berry, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 11:30 am January 12, 2026 at his home. He was born March 2, 1947 in Augusta, Maine to the late George Merton and Vera Marie (Everly) Berry. Glenn married Paula (Chadbourne) Berry on October 14, 1972 and she survives.
In addition to his beloved wife, Glenn is survived by his sons, Jason G. Berry and wife, Julie, Jared M. Berry and wife, Lindsey, and Justin S. Berry and significant other, Corena Keith; grandchildren, Madilyn Ellis and husband, Cody, Lauren Berry, Stella Berry, Sylvie Berry, Greyson Edwards, and Paisley Edwards; siblings, Doris Berry, Joyce Little, and David Berry and wife, Mary Lou; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard Berry, Christine Powers, Bernard Berry, and infant brother, Daniel Wayne Berry.
Glenn proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne in Vietnam. He graduated from Greenville College with a degree in education. He worked as a middle school teacher for several years. Later in life, he worked several positions at Continental Tire until his retirement.
Glenn was fun-loving and easygoing, often a big kid at heart. He carried himself with genuine humility and patience. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Glenn was strong in his faith and was a devout follower of Christ. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and adored him.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, January 17, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Jon Henninger officiating. Inurnment will take place at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon at a later date. Memorials may be made in Glenn’s honor to Sleep in Heavenly Peace in Salem, Illinois.
