Randall “Randy” Chambliss, 68, of Bluford, Illinois, passed away August 6, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was born April 8, 1956 in Mount Vernon to the late Robert and D. (Harlow) Chambliss. Randy married Kim (Spangler) Chambliss on September 28, 1996. They were blessed with nearly 28 years of marriage.
In addition to his beloved wife, Randy is survived by his children, Miranda Chambliss and Dakota Chambliss and wife, Abby, all of Bluford; grandchildren, Tray Badger and Hartlyn Chambliss; siblings, Teresa Oliver and Jeffrey Chambliss; uncle, Roger Chambliss; and aunts, Carolyn Riley, Mildred Jones, and Wilma Minor.
In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his infant brother, Robert Wayne “Bobby” Chambliss; grandparents, Clarence and Lela Chambliss and Kelly and Laurabelle Harlow; and uncles, Ernie Harlow and Cletus Max Harlow; and aunt, Kathleen “Sue” Stube.
Randy worked for many years for Keele Feed and Fertilizer and later for Papertown Ag as a fertilizer applicator. He loved to hunt elk and mule deer in Colorado, as well as turkey and deer at home. Randy enjoyed taking road trips with his wife and plenty of four wheeler and tractor rides with his grandkids. He was a loving and proud husband, father, and papa to his grandchildren. Randy will be missed by all who knew and cherished him.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Harmony Cemetery in Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made in Randy’s honor to the American Lung Association.
