JUNCTION CITY — June E. Meseke, age 67, of Junction City, Illinois, passed away on Friday, May 17th, 2024.

She was born on Friday, June 22nd, 1956 in Red Bud, to the late Ervin and Alma (Wallnar) Meseke. June was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, David Meseke, and special friends: Brenda and Phyllis.

June worked as a LPN at Warren G. Murray Developmental Center for over 20 years. She was known for her caring and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. June had a passion for planting flowers and taking care of her yard, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She also loved spoiling her cats and dog. June will be remembered for her Big heart, Big Smile, and Big Laugh.

June is survived by her loving sisters: Joyce Tomasek and her husband Frank of Hoyleton and Lorraine Paine of Vandalia. She is also survived by her special granddaughter, Kalli Altman of St. Louis, Missouri, five nephews: Chris Peck and wife Melissa of Vandalia, Jason Holle and wife Emily of Hoyleton, Nathan Peck and wife Casey of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Josh Holle and wife Erin of Hoyleton; five great-nephews: Andrew, Owen, Anderson, August and Asher; and her extended family and many friends, who usually called her JuneBug.

A Celebration of Life for June will be held at Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia, Illinois on Thursday, May 23rd, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. In Honor of June, the family requests that everyone wear their St Louis Cardinal attire.
