COULTERVILLE, Ill. — Mary E. (Payne) Blood, of Coulterville, IL, formerly of Ina, IL, was welcomed to her Heavenly home on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at the age of 89.

Mary was born on April 11, 1935 in Washington D.C. to Floyd and Florence Hester.

She married H. Marvin Payne on April 19, 1952 and together they were blessed with four children: Marvin E. (Sock) Payne & wife Millie, Linda McMaster, Jeff Payne, Anne Fullerton & husband Mike. In addition to her children, surviving Mary are her grandkids and great-grandkids: Amanda Bourner (Jeff), Melissa Kessler (Darren), Brittany Suhling (Brandon), David McMaster (Bethany), Betsy Butler (Michael), Katie Timmermann (Mike), Christopher Fullerton (Hannah), Robert Kaufman, Gregory Kaufman, Madelyn & Kassidy Bourner, Owen & Alyza Kessler, Breckin, Jensen, & Seeley Suhling, Hadley & Lennon McMaster, Mabry & Rhett Butler, Zoey & Brody Timmermann, James & baby Fullerton.

After the marriage to Marvin ended, Mary wed Gene Blood on July 11, 1990. They remained happily married until Gene’s passing on September 26, 2008.

Funeral Services for “Mean ole Mary”, as many friends and family knew her, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, with Reverend Dale Burzynski officiating. Mary will be laid to rest at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, IL.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Mary’s memory.
