MOUNT VERNON — Eight babies, 5 boys & 3 girls, were born at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in the path of totality on April 8, 2024. The first Total Solar Eclipse baby was born at 8:22 am with the last of the eight born at 10:59 pm.

Mt. Vernon was in the path of the total solar eclipse that took place on April 8, 2024. Totality started at 2:00 pm and lasted 3 minutes and 44.5 seconds. The babies will be 20 years old when they have a chance to experience the next totality in the U.S.
