NASHVILLE, Ill. — Nascote Industries in Nashville, Illinois halted production for employees to view the solar eclipse.

The paint line, assembly lines, and molding presses were shut down for thirty minutes to allow employees the opportunity to view this once-in-a-lifetime celestial event. In the time leading up to the totality, the employees filled the parking lot and enjoyed complimentary Moonpies.

To be more sustainable, Nascote Industries has decided to donate its slightly used solar eclipse glasses to a charitable cause, Eclipse Glasses USA.

This is a global donation program that collects and redistributes eclipse glasses to ensure that children in various countries can see the next celestial event without risking their eyesight.

Solar eclipse viewers can drop off eclipse glasses in good condition at Nascote Industries’ main plant location at 18310 Enterprise Avenue in Nashville, Illinois, anytime Monday through Friday 7 am to 4 pm.
Also, eclipse glasses can be dropped off at the Nashville Illinois Public Library located at 219 Elm Street Monday through Friday 11 am to 6 pm, and Saturday 11 am to 2 pm. The last day to donate at Nascote is Friday, April 19th.
