SANDOVAL — Sandoval school administration is assuring families that despite a rumor circulating in the community, their schools are safe.

In an early Thursday morning statement, the school administration said law enforcement and the schools have been working together throughout the week to ensure the continued safety of their schools.

Law enforcement conducted a thorough investigation and has provided assurances to the school administration that they have no reason to believe the schools are unsafe. Both law enforcement and the school have investigated the underlying allegations and have found them to be without merit.

The release did say the Sandoval Police Department has increased its presence at community schools, and the school district has requested additional visibility in the coming days.

They ask people to not be alarmed by the additional visibility of police officers in the area throughout the school day over the next several days as they work together to ensure students and the community feel safe.
