For some of Tuesday’s winning candidates, the election season is essentially over for them. But for others, they’ll start gearing up for the race in November.
In Marion County, two county seats will be competitive in the fall, with candidates running on both the Democratic and Republican tickets.
For the State’s Attorney’s Office, Republican incumbent Tim Hudspeth was unopposed in Tuesday’s primary race, as was Democrat challenger Jon Meador. The two men will face off in November.
In the race for the Marion County Coroner’s Office, Republican Claude Howell defeated incumbent Coroner Troy Cannon Tuesday. Howell will now run against Democratic candidate Dr. Anton Dubrick in November. Dubrick ran unopposed in the Primary Election for his Party’s nomination.
And while Republican incumbent Congressman Mike Bost narrowly defeated his opponent Darren Bailey Tuesday night, he’ll face Democrat Brian Roberts in November in a fight for his 12th Congressional District seat.
