MOUNT VERNON — Nathaniel Scott Hayes, 31, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 8:14 am January 25, 2024 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon.

He was born March 17, 1992 in Bloomington, Indiana. Nathaniel married Hannah (Harrison) Hayes on October 15, 2022 and she survives.  In addition to his beloved wife, Nathaniel is survived by his mother, Pamela R. (Davidson) Christenberry and husband, Frank of Bloomington, Indiana; daughter, Kaylee Hayes of Bloomington; sister, Katie Smith and husband, John of Bloomington; nephew, J.J. Smith of Bloomington; niece, Emma Smith of Bloomington; grandparents, Tony and Diana Davidson of Bloomington; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; mother-in-law, Carol Adcock; grandmother-in-law, Verla Adcock; and best friends, David and Kimberly Fanning of Mount Vernon.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his great-grandparents. Nathaniel was a loving family man. His memory lives on through those who loved him most.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Connexion Church in Mount Vernon. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 pm with Pastor Matt Griswold officiating.
