EFFINGHAM, Ill. — Stella Jo Brown, 46, of Effingham formerly of Iuka, passed away on May 17, 2023, in Miami, Florida.

Stella was born on December 5, 1976, in Salem, Illinois the daughter of Danny Ray and Mary (Johnston) Brown.

Survivors include her parents, Danny and Mary Brown of Iuka; boyfriend, Jordan Beals of Effingham; brother, Donald Brown and wife Diana of Teutopolis, Illinois; son, Drayvon Brown and girlfriend Lexie Lytle Archie of Centralia; grandchildren, Xay’Vion, Xy’Lar, and Xe’Bastian; grandmother, Melba Johnston of Fairfield; nephews, Danny Christopher Brown, Dylan Brown, and Roddnie Deters; and several great-aunts, great-uncles, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Stella loved dogs and fish.  She loved to watch movies and music videos but especially enjoyed talking to her friends on her computer.

Funeral services for Stella Jo Brown will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Marvin McCormick officiating.  Burial will follow at the Old Bethel Cemetery in Iuka.  There will be a visitation on Friday from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family and can be left at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be made at CrouseFH.com.
