MT. VERNON, IL — Mt. Vernon Township High School staff and animal control workers had an almost impossible challenge on their hands Thursday when an unusual guest wandered on to the school campus.

A pig apparently wandered onto the campus Thursday, and a group of people took on the almost impossible task of catching the animal.

As of Thursday evening, the pig was in the bean field beside the campus.

School leaders said they’ll continue to look for her and try to catch her so she’s safe.
