James Brent Morlan, 63, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at 6:02 am January 20, 2022 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital Evansville, Indiana.

He was born March 25, 1958 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late William “Bill” and Phyllis (Summers) Morlan.  Brent is survived by his mother, Phyllis Gowler of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughters, Danielle Organ and husband, Jason of McLeansboro, Illinois, Michaela Harrison and husband, Bryce of Fairfield, Illinois; son, Eric Clark and wife, Candice of Salem, Illinois; seven grandchildren including, Adam Morlan of Salem, Illinois who was raised in Brent’s home; brothers, Bryant Morlan and wife, Jill of Troy, Illinois, Blake Gowler and wife, Jana of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Bruce Morlan and wife, Ting of Walnut Hill, Illinois; and several nieces.James was preceded in death by his father, Bill Morlan; brother, Brad Morlan; sister, Beth “Sissy” Morlan; and niece, Amy Morlan. James was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

A Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Interment will follow.
