Earlene (Pierce) Greenwalt, 93, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Earlene was born June 21, 1928 in Jefferson County, IL to Walter Earl & Winnie (Meador) Pierce.  On January 2, 1947 she married Gearl E. Greenwalt, who preceded her in death on November 2, 2019.

Earlene was a home maker, she was a member of the Home Extension Club of Wayne County for many decades, and she was a member of the local Quilting Club.  She enjoyed collecting rolling pins, quilting, farming, cooking, and spending time with family & friends.

Earlene is survived by a daughter Beverly (Rudy) Frisch of Scheller, IL; a son Brad (Nancy) Greenwalt of Keenes, IL; 3 grandsons: John Fleener of Mt. Vernon, IL; Rich (Joy) Greenwalt of Johnsonville, IL and Quinton (Tyger) Greenwalt of Keenes, IL; a granddaughter Maranda (Rhett) Sloan of Waltonville, IL; 2 step-granddaughters: Crystal (Greg) Alfeldt of Oakdale, IL and Jennifer (Jesse) Hails of Waltonville, IL; 13 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Gearl E. Greenwalt, a sister Nelma (and husband Lowell) Pepple, and a great grandson Braden Heck.

Funeral Services for Earlene (Pierce) Greenwalt will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL with Marty Mills officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 am until the time of service at 12 noon.  Internment will follow the funeral service at Garrison Temple Cemetery near Keenes, IL.
